RAPARAPAHOE STREAM

Walking Time        1 hour return

This area is located 7km from Te Puke, near the top of the second gorge on No 4 road, which branches off No 3 road. There is a signposted pull-off area for parking.

Constructed in 1987 by the Te Puke Lions Club, the track drops steeply through mature tawa forest to the Raparapahoe Stream. It then continues upstream to a large pool at the base of a 3m waterfall, created by the ignimbrite cliffs characteristic to this area. This is a good spot for a refreshing swim on a hot summer's day before taking the steep climb back to the road.
