There are two picnic tables and a small pond popular with the local waterfowl.

Beyond the locked gate  a grassy access-way leads to a short bush walk (signposted). This track meanders along beside a small stream through regenerating coastal forest dominated by rewrewa trees and mamaku tree ferns. After crossing the stream it doubles back then climbs to a pleasant open area that leads back to the starting point.
