From the childrens-play ground and the toilets on Waione Ave, the walkway follows the grassed area in front of the houses. Views of the harbour and Bowentown, along with some lovely pohutakawa are features of this walk.

A small stream in the vicinity of Dr North Memorial Reserve must be skirted and the walkway ends shortly thereafter. The return route called be walked via Pohutakawa Drive / Athenree Road.
